[...] Do they get bonus points for telling us there is lead in the face paint? The bigger question is who in the world would knowingly include a toxic substance in an item marketed toward children? And what kind of corporate responsibility allows their buyers to order such an item and stock it on the shelves? Just one more reason to NOT shop at Wal-Mart. [...]

China has more post-grad students enrolled at the moment than U.S. has high school students! When this massive brainpower realizes the full potential of desert solar power, off-shore wind power, wave and tidal power, and sets forth to exploit it, the world as we know it will change! The New York 'businessman' and his thieving ways, crashing petty set-up markets and screwing common folk will fade into history in comparison, as a great communist effort pushes ahead and conquers energy supply problems for all China! The U.S.A. has the same potential, but by past example, litigates and cheats and hedges and stalls, never quite moving ahead, remaining tied emotionally to 1930's technologies in their energy, automotive and housing sectors, as well as financial practices! A slowly constipating U.S.A. will wither into third world folly with the Arab and OPEC nations, drowning in the same small game! China will make steel from Solar energy, feed it's people as it does now, with superior and unfettered agricultural technology and move its' people by mass transit of the most modern kind, and the U.S. will still be producing, but now, with government monies and by political decree, two seater 620 hp, 8 mpg Corvettes! Even after GM themselves have taught Chinese peasant girls, to build, for 85 cents and hour, Buick LeSabers and Chev Cavaliers in Shanghai! India as we speak, do MRI and x-ray interpretations, in Insia , overnight, then send by satellite, the results to American doctors offices by morning! They also do American banking, luggage handling, warranty inquires and many other "chores" not thought "important" enough for the monumental American ego, but paying jobs none the less! Sustainability for the U.S.A. is so ridiculously in conflict with American ideology and social forces as to render America doomed to defeat without drastic paradigm shifts, greater than a nuclear attack in effect, and coming rapidly down over the American population in form of the (GRD) great republican depression! Walmart will patiently follow the American population down to third world status, and will adapt, as long as profits can be made, to the rise of a new breed of American with a new and very different "American Dream" remembering that both are just aberrations of history to be delt with as they present themselves - sustainability is the new engineering fact of life and lesson learned, will be respected hereafter.
