The Earth Hour is the equivalent of a mass killer helping one person in a good way once a year to wash away his guilt and then continuing his killings. Let's do something sustainable, not something childish like Earth Hour.

Although the idea of Earth Hour probably began with noble causes and it has built an important momentum around the earth in both bringing awareness to the needs of the planet and to our impact on it, I sadly can no longer support this cause.

I have recently learned that Earth Hour is hosted by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF). WWF, begun by trophy hunters is an organization that supposedly supports a sustainable Earth.

Many of us are dreamily swept into this noble idea, however there are some dark secrets under the covers of this Organization.

WWF leads many people to believe they are helping endangered animals, threatened species and animals in need around the world. They recruit millions of dollars from innocent people who want to save the lives of animals, yet this organization is one which supports hunting, culling and the use of animals for cruel animal testing.

Their legibility has been questioned by concerned citizens and groups such as PETA who have created a website called the Wicked Wildlife Fund.

Most incomprehensible to me is that they could shut down the Canadian Seal Hunt if they chose to. The Canadian Seal Hunt is the second largest massacre of animals on the planet and the largest slaughter of marine babies in the world.

How could an organization who claims to be green allow the blood from these creatures to stain the ocean floor spreading hypoxia and increasing ocean acidity? Not to mention allow one of the most barbaric and cruel slaughters known to mankind.

In addition Earth Hour is paid for by companies like Shell and Coca Cola. Shell is jumping on the green bandwagon after years of habitat, animal life and human life destruction in order to sell it's oil. It is not a green company and does not deserve to be considered as such.

Please rethink Earth Hour. Make every single hour earth by not killing animals.
