The new Hilton Garden Inn Gatlinburg is a great model for greener hotels indeed. And it's somewhat fitting that a huge nature-driven tourism area (Great Smoky Mountains National Park & Much more) makes a great place to showcase this kind of progress.

Also planning to seek LEED certification in Gatlinburg is the new The Nantahala Outdoor Center (http://www.gatlinburg-lodging-guide.com/gatlinburg-continues-efforts-to-go-green/).

Many other hotels in the Gatlinburg / Pigeon Forge area are also doing some fairly progressive things to be more green as well. One step at a time!
