The Rochester Institute of Technology has been awarded a $13 million dollar federal grant that will allow the college to begin construction on a new, $35 million dollar facility for the Institute, planned to open in 2012. The Institute currently runs six programs, ranging from the Center for Sustainable Production to the Systems Modernization and Sustainment Center. The new building will expand the Institute’s research to focus on enhancing technology to run electric cars, improving fuel cells as a nonpolluting source of electricity, and recycling electronic equipment.

The Arab Encyclopedia of CSR will publish its First Arab Social Responsibility Report next year. The report will monitor national strategies of social responsibility in all Arab countries, using the framework of the U.N. Global Compact. The launching of the report was announced last week at the Second Arab Forum for Social Responsibility, held in Saudi Arabia.
