Greenmonitor Trevelino/Keller Communications Group, one of the nation’s fastest growing and forward thinking boutique public relations firms, announces its focus on and commitment to the environment via a GreenWorks™ Practice.  Recognizing that organic, alternative, clean, eco-friendly and hybrid are no longer what the few do, the firm plans to leverage green thinking across each of its three practices — smart technology, business to business and consumer — with hopes of encouraging Corporate America to direct more resources to green responsibility, both in the community and in product development.

“Green is moving into the mainstream," says principal Genna Keller. "It’s made its way from those who are environmentally centric to people and companies who understand that green living may be the most forward-thinking mantra one can embrace,” explains Keller.  “With our relationships and programs, we hope to educate our clients and our marketplace about the true business value of green practices.”

To provide expertise to clients and prospects, Trevelino/Keller is tapping into the core competency of several leading green experts such as Joel Makower, a strategist on corporate environmental practices, clean technology, and green marketing who has helped a wide range of companies align environmental responsibility with business success.  The firm is also working with the Lifestyles of Health and Sustainability (LOHAS) Forum to educate its constituents regarding the business opportunity that green represents. LOHAS describes a $228.9 billion U.S. marketplace for goods and services focused on health, the environment, social justice, personal development and sustainable living. Approximately 30 percent of the adults in the U.S., or 50 million people, are currently considered LOHAS Consumers and that number is expected to steadily increase.

Earlier this month, Trevelino/Keller launched The Weather Channel’s broadband initiative dedicated to climate change, One Degree, and plans to draw from relationships forged with that effort.  “Trevelino/Keller immersed themselves in green and brought some key climate and green influencers to the table for us,” says Matt de Ganon, VP Broadband and Consumer Applications, The Weather Channel Interactive.

Trevelino/Keller is dedicated to sustainable business practices as well. “We recognized as a first step, it was important for our firm to be climate neutral. The company has purchased green power from solar and wind sources, supporting the development of clean, renewable energy,” says Dean Trevelino, principal. The company is also dedicated to environmentally preferable purchasing and teleconferencing and videoconferencing are used rather than travel when practical. Additionally, Trevelino/Keller’s staff identifies and facilitates efforts to be a good corporate citizen via its Green Works@Work program, an effort to give back to the community with an emphasis on green and children. To date, the company has contributed to Trees Atlanta, The Sierra Club, The Atlanta Botanical Garden and Oakhurst Garden.  It’s currently working on the launch of a “compact lights” initiative at the elementary school level.
