BlueOrchard Finance is a Swiss company specializing in the management of microfinance investment products. Highlights of their portfolio include:

Co-management of the Dexia Micro-Credit Fund, the first private worldwide and fully commercial microfinance investment fund sponsored by Dexia-BIL bank in Luxembourg. This fund currently finances about 60 microfinance institutions in 25 different emerging economies for a total of over USD 100 million.

Co-management of the Saint-Honoré Microfinance Fund, sponsored by Compagnie Financière Edmond de Rothschild Banque; acting as a fund of funds, it invests in a broad array of Apex debt investment vehicles targeting microfinance institutions at a local, regional or international level.

Advisor to the ResponsAbility Global Microfinance Fund since December 2003, and acts as its main partner for its microfinance debt segment. BlueOrchard selects and carries out the due diligence of all investments in the fund segment for which it is responsible (up to 25% of the total assets).

Servicer for BlueOrchard Microfinance Securities I, a Special Purpose Vehicle registered in Delaware (USA) in 2004. The first of its kind, this Collateralized Debt Obligation offers 7-year loans at fixed rates to 14 outstanding MFI in 9 emerging markets for a total of USD 81.25 million. OPIC acts as senior lender to the SPV.

Sponsor and servicer BlueOrchard Loans for Development 2006-1 S.A., the second CDO launched by BlueOrchard Finance in 2006. Innovative features include local currency funding for 25% of the total portfolio. This deal reached USD 99.6 million and funded 21 MFI in 13 emerging economies with 5-year loans at fixed rates. Morgan Stanley acted as arranger and placement agent.
