It’s All About the Paper — New Online Blog & Community

✅ All InspiredEconomist articles and guides have been fact-checked and reviewed for accuracy. Please refer to our editorial policy for additional information.

For marketers looking to improve the sustainability of their print marketing programs, there is almost nothing more important than the role of the paper. For this reason, Wausau Paper has launched a new online community, Digital Space, for designers, printers, and other experts in digital print technology and applications.

The site includes both a collaborative, social media aspect and a blog community featuring experts on paper, printing, and sustainability. Among those experts is, well, me. I will be a regular contributor on topics related to digital printing and the greening of print marketing.

In addition to the blog, the site also contains the following sections:

One of the benefits to marketers is to both contribute and to act as a fly on the wall, listening in on the conversations of experts in digital printing and sustainability. You will be able to view portfolios, watch and learn as the community collaboratively solves problems, and get inspired.

The goal is to be more than a blog, but to foster relationship building and learning within the industry. The site is just getting started, so come and be part of it.

  3. Two suggestions I might throw out there. First, you might see if you can find trash bags made out of recycled plastic. It’s still plastic, but it’s a heck of a lot better. I don’t know what’s available in your country, but I might suggest an online search. Second, see if you can reuse bags you might already have. Department stores, electronics stores, or large retailers will often put things in shopping bags large enough for a trash can. I keep these and use them for trash disposal when they are available. Does this solve the problem entirely? No, but it’s a step.
