PUMP-movieMost cars and trucks these days run on gas and diesel, and while electric vehicle and alternate fuel technologies are rapidly advancing and may someday play a major part in our transportation infrastructure, for the most part, we’re all at the mercy of the oil companies that monopolize our fuel options.

But according to the soon to be released documentary PUMP, it doesn’t have to be that way, and an end can be brought to this monopoly through a variety of strategies.

“Today gasoline is our only option for transportation fuel. With global demand surging, and with no other alternative, our dependence on gasoline has drained our wallets, increased air pollution and sent our sons and daughters to fight in faraway lands to protect the flow of oil. PUMP shows us how making a variety of replacement fuels widely available to consumers will reduce fuel prices across the board. Diversifying the market with replacement fuels that are cheaper, cleaner and American made will also create jobs , strengthening the economy at home and promoting stability abroad.” – PUMP

PUMP features notable “Fuel Freedom Fighters” such as Elon Musk (CEO of Tesla Motors), John Hofmeister (former President of Shell Oil US), and Peter Goldmark (former president of the Rockefeller Foundation.)
