That much of the stimulus is also environmentally friendly means more growth in the green sector.\u00a0 And that means more green jobs.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.fastcompany.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fast Company<\/a> cites that:<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Massive investments in clean energy promise to keep farmers, urban planners, and green-tech entrepreneurs in business for the next decade.&#8221;<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>And they bring us a list of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fastcompany.com\/articles\/2009\/01\/best-green-jobs.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the ten best green jobs<\/a> for the next decade.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Farmer<\/li>\n<li>Forester<\/li>\n<li>Solar Power Installer<\/li>\n<li>Energy efficiency builder<\/li>\n<li>Wind Turbine Fabricator<\/li>\n<li>Conservation Biologist<\/li>\n<li>Green MBA and Entrepreneur<\/li>\n<li>Recycler<\/li>\n<li>Sustainability Systems Developer<\/li>\n<li>Urban Planner<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>What I found interesting in this report, and a comment that fits well with traditional employment in tough times is the emphasis on consulting services.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;The concept of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sustainabilitydictionary.com\/t\/triple_bottom_line.php\" target=\"_new\" rel=\"noopener\">triple bottom line<\/a> has migrated from the margins to the mainstream of the business world. A recent report by the U.S. Conference of Mayors, Mayors Climate Protection Center found that business services like legal, research and consulting account for the majority of all green jobs &#8212; over 400,000. This includes everything from marketing to the LOHAS (Lifestyles of Health and Sustainability) segment, to serving as a VP of sustainability within a large company, to piloting a green startup like Method or Recyclebank.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>So, if you have the green credentials, opportunities should abound. Perhaps that isn&#8217;t as an employee just yet, but as credit loosens, still cautious companies will begin hiring consultants and temporary workers.
