Earlier this year, the ice cream company announced its plans &#8220;to go fully Fair Trade&#8221; for all its global flavors by the end of 2013&#8230; definitely an ambition goal.<\/p>\n<p>So for the next two days, bloggers from around the country will learn more about Ben &amp; Jerry&#8217;s Social Mission goals, tour the Waterbury Factory, meet the Ben &amp; Jerry&#8217;s Flavor Gurus (research and development), and taste a lot of fun, unique ice cream flavors (fingers crossed).<\/p>\n<p>Ben &amp; Jerry&#8217;s was recently in the news for <a title=\"Ben &amp; Jerry&#039;s Takes &#039;All Natural&#039; Claims Off Ice Cream Labels\" href=\"http:\/\/www.npr.org\/blogs\/health\/2010\/09\/27\/130158014\/ben-jerry-s-takes-all-natural-claims-off-ice-cream-labels?ft=1&amp;f=1053\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">removing the words &#8220;all natural&#8221; from its labels<\/a>. The <a title=\"Center for Science in the Public Interest\" href=\"http:\/\/www.cspinet.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI)<\/a> told  the company in August that it shouldn&#8217;t use the phrase &#8220;all natural&#8221; if products  contain alkalized cocoa, corn syrup and hydrogenated oil. The super premium ice cream maker agreed, because it didn&#8217;t want to battle over the definition of &#8220;all natural&#8221;. The FDA has not set a clear definition so the phrase can and does have many different meanings.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m sure this and many other issues will be discussed over the next couple of fun-filled days.
