{"id":564,"date":"2006-09-27T17:11:13","date_gmt":"2006-09-27T22:11:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ietransfer.wpengine.com\/2006\/09\/27\/w-hotels-announces-see-green-program\/"},"modified":"2006-09-27T17:11:13","modified_gmt":"2006-09-27T22:11:13","slug":"w-hotels-announces-see-green-program","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/inspiredeconomist.com\/articles\/w-hotels-announces-see-green-program\/","title":{"rendered":"W Hotels Announces &#8220;See Green&#8221; Program"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.point-travel.com\/chains\/images\/w-hotels.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>(Photo: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.point-travel.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Point-Travel.com<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p>As <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hotel-online.com\/News\/PR2006_3rd\/Sep06_Greenaloft.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hotel Online<\/a> reports, <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.starwoodhotels.com\/whotels\/about\/news_release_detail.html?obj_id=0900c7b9804d0e38\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">aloft<\/a>, <\/em>a new vision of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.starwoodhotels.com\/whotels\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Starwood Hotels and Resorts&#8217; W Hotels<\/a>, have announced details about their new &quot;See Green&quot; program.&nbsp; The &quot;See Green&quot; program was created to introduce and promote ecologically friendly products and services.&nbsp; Highlights of the project include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A landscaping plan that redesigns standard parking lots into outdoor park-like environments, with a variety of deciduous trees and shrubbery. <\/li>\n<li>Depending on the location, the plan also includes a grassy area known as the &quot;backyard.&quot; <\/li>\n<li>Special area of parking spots that will be reserved specifically for hybrid cars, raising awareness of the benefits of environmentally friendly vehicles. <\/li>\n<li>Hybrid aloft &quot;house car&quot; at each location, available to interested guests. <\/li>\n<li>When guests want to tidy up their cars, they&#8217;ll be provided with eco-friendly cleaning agents as well as reusable cleaning cloths instead of paper towels. <\/li>\n<li>Guest rooms will feature eco-friendly dispenser units in the oversized showers. The dispensers hold shampoo\/conditioner and body wash to reduce the use of non-biodegradable plastic materials. <\/li>\n<li>Laundry Facilities with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.seventhgeneration.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Seventh Generation<\/a>, eco-friendly detergent.<\/li>\n<li>The &quot;splash&quot; pool will be cleaned with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.claritywaterproducts.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Clarity Water Products<\/a> or <a href=\"http:\/\/www.salchlor.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sal-Chlor<\/a> cleaning agents.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&quot;Our vision is to empower each guest to make ecologically-responsible choices and to provide the operators the tools to help reduce our overall impact on the environment,&quot;
