Digest<\/a> reports that a group of Chinese\u00a0investors\u00a0are\u00a0showing interest\u00a0in palm oil-based biodiesel production in\u00a0North Sumatra. \u00a0The investment group has sent an exploration team and is investigating the financing of construction projects that would commence in 2009.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/beritasore.com\/2008\/12\/04\/china-planning-to-invest-in-biodiesel-in-n-sumatra\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Berita Sore<\/a> points out that crude palm oil and other animal\/phyto oil exports in the January-October 2008 period were valued at US$3.947 million, up 66.18 percent from the same period last year.\u00a0 China was North Sumatra&#8217;s third largest export destination after India and Japan,\u00a0which may in part help to explain the growing interest from Chinese\u00a0investors.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Photo Credit:\u00a0<\/em><a
