WHAT:
The official dedication of Nevada Solar OneÔ, Acciona Energy North America’s revolutionary 64MW solar thermal power plant located in Boulder City, Nevada.
WHY:
With concern about global warming and unstable oil and gas markets, the need for clean and commercially viable energy is at an all-time-high. Nevada Solar One is the largest solar thermal electric power plant to be built in the last 16 years, and is the third largest plant of its kind in the world. Constructed on a lifetime of research and development, the plant showcases Acciona’s solar thermal leadership and demonstrates that solar thermal energy production is possible on a commercial scale.
Clean Technology is the United States best defense against global warming and energy dependency and provides us with a way to utilize natural, untapped resources more efficiently and productively at the same time decreasing our dependence on carbon emitting coal and natural gas. The Nevada Solar One dedication aims to unite those leading the Clean Tech revolution in order to shine a light on this very important issue. Industry leaders, scientists and celebrity activists will all be present to discuss Nevada Solar One and the future of renewable energy resources in the United States.
