Introduction to Solar Electricity provides a thorough overview of photovoltaic (PV) technology for the beginner who wants to use PV or for those seeking employment in the solar industry. This is the first of three short courses in the Sustainable Practices Series and is scheduled for Saturday, Sunday & Monday Oct. 28 – 30 from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm. The course will be taught by professionals from Solar Energy International, a recognized leader in renewable energy training in conjunction with The
College of Engineering and Applied Science and CU Boulder’s Division of Continuing Education and Professional Studies.
Participants will learn to produce their own electricity from the sun through practical design and installation of PV systems. This course also covers system sizing, site analysis, hardware specification and component selection. Typical applications and case study examples will be covered. The final day of instruction includes hands-on laboratory exercises in the
field.
