Social entrepreneurs, businesses with products that have a positive social and environmental impact, and other capitalist do-gooders, get ready for a new way to reach a hungry audience.
The latest social venture from Alex Bogusky (along with Ana Bogusky, Rob Schuham and John Bielenberg) is a community for accelerating social innovation, through collaborative branding and a marketplace to match. The brand is called COMMON, and instead of focusing on having a competitive advantage, it aims to champion the “collaborative advantage”.
“On January 31st, 2014, the lights will be turned on and the doors flung wide open to the world’s first collaborative marketplace. The COMMON Marketplace.
The COMMON Marketplace: the online market for goods for good, the place where the world finds the companies and products interested in making a positive contribution to the planet and all the creatures on it, while making a living in the process.” – COMMON
Every business needs a marketplace, even (or perhaps especially) those with a positive social impact, and COMMON wants to be that collaborative marketplace. If you or your business wants to be one of the first 100 charter members of COMMON, consider the following questions:
“Do you have a product or service that’s wildly functional and wonderfully designed that you’d like to unleash on the world? Does it do a bunch of good, while making people smile? Are you committed to the health of the planet and all the creatures on it? If so, let us know, and let’s see if we’re a good match.” – COMMON
If you’ve got something to sell that really matters to the world, apply to be a part of COMMON with this brief questionnaire. If that’s not you, but you’d like to be a customer of businesses that are making a difference, sign up to learn more at COMMON.
