Green Tech Today

When I first started regularly listening to podcasts in 2005 and 2006, the two that everyone I listened to talked about were this WEEK in TECH by Leo Laporte and the Daily Source Code from Adam Curry. There may have been others, but in my world, these were the two by which all others were judged.

TWiT, the acronym by which this WEEK in TECH is known, is on its 265th episode and has led to the creation of several offshoot podcasts. One that I have particularly enjoyed is this WEEK in GOOGLE, which features discussions about Google and cloud computing news with Jeff Jarvis and Gina Trapani.

The newest offering from TWiT is one that readers of The Inspired Economist will want to add to their iTunes or YouTube subscription list: Green Tech Today. Hosted by Sarah Lane and Dr. Kiki, it’s called “the essential show for the eco-minded geek” and promises to cover the technology, news, gadgets, and innovation fueling the green movement.”

The third episode was released last week and has Dr. Kiki travelling to Google’s headquarters in Mountainview, CA to interview Parag Chokshi, manager of Clean Energy Public Affairs for Google. You can watch it here:

In the first two episodes, they took on cool roofs, battery sharing and other green tech news. There were two weeks between the first two episodes and then more than a month until episode three, so I’m not sure how often episodes will come out, but thanks to RSS, I’ll be tuning in.
